The Clarkston Community Garden is moving their garden and could use your help. Their operation from year to year solely relies on donations.
Community Garden Manager, Dan Cease, says, "It is not easy to predict or count on enough money to cover water, electricity and sanitation monthly bills. We hope to produce more veggies for the Asotin Co. Food Bank and expand the needy family gardening. This year we will be providing all tools, seeds, water, fertilizer, and transplants. We will be providing Walla Walla Sweet Onions to first come first serve. We will have in ground 5 large beds that are not raised for a greater harvest. We also need volunteers this year to help with the many projects Dan Storey and I are saddling. Thanks to John Freeman, Donna Larson, Jason Ohman for helping with moving the boxes. Anyone interested in helping with or promoting our garden, please call me at 509-254-1720."
During the first three months of the year they count on yearly gardeners signing up, and all donations are tax deductible. Here are the membership offerings, all require advanced registration.
1. "FRIENDS OF THE GARDEN" membership $20 minimum. (No bed)
2. "GARDENER MEMBERSHIP", $20 plus $15 or $20 depending on bed size and/or quantity.
3. "SPONSOR MEMBERSHIP" $20 plus $15 or $20 depending on bed size and/or quantity.
