Posted today at all polling places in the Lewiston School District is the notice of the upcoming Supplemental Levy Election which will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2008.
Patrons of the District will be asked to vote on the renewal of the levy which has been funding District programs for the past 22 years. The Board of Directors is presenting a five-year levy at the same rate (.00439 times taxable market value) which was approved in 1998. The term of the levy will be five (5) years.
Patrons may vote at any one elementary school or at Jenifer Junior High School between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2008. Specific addresses and a copy of the ballot language are available on the District's website. Additional information is available by calling 208-748-3000.
Patrons may vote absentee at the Lewiston School District Central Services Office, 3317 12th Street, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. between now and May 19, 2008.
Brochures explaining the levy have been sent to all addresses in the 83501 zip code area. Patrons in this area should watch their mailboxes for this information.
