LEWISTON, ID. Through its lead agency, the Community Action Partnership, the L C Valley CirclesTM Initiative has received a grant of $1,000 from the Idaho Community Foundation for the CirclesTM Weekly Community Meetings and for removing barriers for low-income families.
"The grant will make it possible for us to provide our no-cost dinners and community meetings that are offered every Tuesday at the Lewiston First United Methodist Church (1906 Broadview) from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. These community meetings help to educate the public about poverty and provide information and support for low-income individuals to prepare them to leave poverty," said Carol Peterson, co-chair of the LC Valley CirclesTM Guiding Coalition. "The Idaho Community Foundation deserves special thanks for helping us make this possible."
The Idaho Community Foundation is a state wide nonprofit organization composed of over 400 individual funds, pooled together for efficient management. Total assets are more than $55 million. Since its inception in 1988, ICF has made charitable distributions totaling more than $41 million.
