A Children's Memorial

Jackson Baldwin Falls is a place of healing and reflection, a way for Jackson to continually give to our community, a community that gave so much to him. It is a place where our community can honor the lives of all of our children who have passed on too soon.

While the idea for the falls came from a young girl's simple desire to remember her classmate, Jackson, turning the dream into a reality proved to be anything but a simple proposition. But through the unfailing dedication of the Jackson Baldwin Falls planning committee and countless hours of volunteer labor provided by local individuals a mountain, or at the very least a hillside, was quite literally moved.

The memorial wall
The final result is a lovely path that winds past three cascading waterfalls and an 8 foot tall by 25 foot long memorial wall bearing the names of children from our community who were lost before their time. It truly is everything we originally dreamed it would be and more. The entire project is a living testament to the words of Margaret Mead, "Never doubt that a small group of dedicated individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

This display is located on the hillside below the Red Lion HOtel, at the intersection of 21st Street and Main, Lewiston.
