Chief Timothy State Park and Alpowai Interpretive Center

Located 8 miles west of Clarkston on US 12 on an island in the Snake River. Operated by Washington State Department of Parks.

Directions: From Clarkston, follow Hwy. 12 about 8 miles west. Turn right at Silcott Rd and cross the bridge.

Park is 282 acres and has 11,500 feet of freshwater shoreline Formed by Lower Granite Dam flooding area leaving the island.

Facilities: 66 camp sites – Fee camping, 33 with RV hookups and utilities. Boating, camping, fishing, hiking, interpretation, picnicking, sightseeing, swimming, and water skiing. Pets only on leash.

24 picnic sites, 33 utility campsites and 33 standard campsites, trailer dump, 8 sun shelters, 3 comfort stations, bathhouse, unguarded swimming beach, interpretive center, 4 boat ramps and docks, food concession, and contact station.

Alpowai Interpretive Center near by with historical displays.
