Nez Perce National Historical Park

Nez Perce National Historical Park

Consists of 38 sites in Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Montana which depict the history and culture of Nez Perce Indians and their interaction with Lewis & Clark, fur traders, gold miners, loggers, missionaries, settlers and soldiers. To travel to the 38 sites one would need to drive more than 400 miles. The Road markers for the sites are two crossed feathers. The following are located near the Lewis Clark Valley. Donald MacKenzie’s Pacific Fur Company Trading Post, Coyote’s Fishnet, Ant and Yellowjacket, Spalding, Spalding Home, Northern Idaho Indian Agency, Fort Lapwai, Craig Donation Land Claim, St. Joseph’s Mission, Lenore

Park Headquarters is located at Spaulding, Idaho, 11 mi. east of Lewiston on U.S. Hwy. 95. Facilities there include a visitors’ center, Museum of Nez Perce Culture , and Spaulding Park and Arboretum with facilities for picnic and sight seeing.
